ACADEMIC EDITING and PROOFREADING for professors, graduate students, authors
—Academic papers and journal articles
—Books and book chapters
—Doctoral dissertations, MA theses
—Research grant applications
I also work on shorter projects such as graduate school applications, resumes, blogs and letters – and have helped professors, grad students and others with structure, organization and other writing issues.
Materials are edited and proofread for:
—Clarity/grammar/readability/word choice
—Typos/spelling/formatting
—Content (i.e., inconsistent, unclear or faulty arguments, contradictions, etc.)
About me:
—Graduate studies at U.C. Berkeley and Cambridge University
—Graduate writing certificate in Creative Nonfiction from Stanford University.
—National Science Foundation fellow; Fulbright scholar. (Awarded over 20 research grants, scholarships and academic awards; full CV available upon request.)
—Reliable, prompt, detail-oriented writer/social scientist/natural scientist. (I’ve also edited many projects in the physical sciences – including dozens of engineering dissertations – and the humanities.)
—Ten+ years of experience editing, proofreading and mentoring.
I generally use Track Changes in Word but can work directly on a printed manuscript if you prefer. I offer a free phone consultation, and for longer projects, three pages of free editing to enable you to get a sense of the kind and degree of editing you will receive, and an estimate of the cost/time it will take to complete your project.
Fees: $45/hour for grad students; $75/hour for professors and business professionals.
I look forward to working together!
